Octea privides logistical support for the new Kono Power Plant (6 megga watts) OCTEA, FULFILLING ITS CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

In fulfilling its corporate social responsibility to the people of Kono, OCTEA Mining Company Limited which was in the past known as Koidu Holdings under the able Management of the OCTEA General Manger Mr. Christo Swanepoel, Ibrahim Sorie Kamara and their formidable logistic team led by My. Henry and Mr. Hanco has been very instrumental this year in assisting D & S Associates (SL) Ltd. to transport the six (6) mega watts electricity generating machines from Makeni to Kono.

This exercise would have been very difficult if they had not come to the aid of D & S Associates (SL) Ltd. With their heavy duty cranes to lift the machines and load them on trailers bound for Kono at no cost. One of the cranes weighs 80 tons and the other 50 tons.

At the time when OCTEA stepped in to assist, so as to ensure that the dream of the Kono people in accessing electricity becomes a reality, there was no other place in the whole country where once could have obtained such services. And OCTEA did it willingly for the sake of the Kono people. In fact, they see the free gesture as part of their own contribution towards developing the Kono community.

As if this was not enough, quite recently in October to be precise, OCTEA again came in with their heavy duty cranes, tele handler and man-power and helped off-loading five (5) (40ft containers) containing power plant accessories in the new Kono power house compound.

Due to this timely contribution in respect of their corporate social responsibility, which is in consonant with His Excellency Dr. Ernest bai Koroma, Agenda for Prosperity for the people of Kono.

The entire Management of D & S Associates (SL) Ltd. Says Kudos to OCTEA for a job well done and always count on their continuous support until the power plant for Kono is completed.
